A heat pump is a highly efficient heating and cooling system that can be used to maintain a comfortable temperature within a building. It works by transferring heat from one location to another, typically from the outside environment to the inside of a building for heating and in the opposite direction for cooling.
A heat-pump water heater uses much less electricity than an electric storage water heater.
This is because it only requires electricity to drive the compressor and the fan, instead of using electricity to heat the water directly, with an electric element.” source: https://www.sustainability.vic.gov.au/
The system uses renewable energy to generate hot water without the need for a solar panel, and produces hot water with 80% greater efficiency than a traditional electric hot water unit. The systems work day and night, rain, hail or sunshine!
The hot water system uses Heat Pump technology, similar to an air-conditioner or fridge operating in reverse:
Heat pump systems require airflow, very similar to a split system a/c unit, which is why they need to be installed outside. You are still eligible for the rebate, you only have to pay for the relocation of services (water and power) to an external location for the new system. Relocations range from $499-$999 depending on roof access, the distance of relocation.
We currently service all of Victoria and New South Wales. We will be expanding this to other areas across Australia, feel free to register your interest now and we’ll be in touch when we’re in your area!
If you currently have an electric or gas hot water heater, your best option is to replace it with a heat-pump hot water heater, rather than replacing like-for-like. There are government incentives available to upgrade to a more efficient heat-pump hot water heater.
There are three different government rebates that Victorian households can access when upgrading to an efficient heat pump hot water system.
The value of STCs is determined by a zoning system used throughout Australia. When compared to the rest of Australia, Victorians receive the highest STC rate for a heat pump system.
Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates, or VEECs, are available to all Victorian families and companies who convert from an inefficient electric or gas hot water system. Those who switch from antiquated electric-resistive hot water systems will receive the most bang for their buck with their VEECs. This is because ancient electric hot water systems emit the greatest glasshouse gases.
In addition to the federal government’s STC rebates for heat pump hot water systems, VEECs are available. They function similarly to STCs as a point-of-sale discount.
Victorians are eligible for both the VEEC and STC rebates. Upgrades from an old electric hot water system to a heat pump hot water system are eligible for rebates.
# VEECs | Value of VEECs | STC rebate | VEECs + STC | |
Metro | 22 | $1,540 | $1,040 | $2,580 |
Regional | 24 | $1,680 | $1,040 | $2,720 |
Electric Heat pumps are becoming popular because they are energy-efficient – they don’t depend on fossil fuel usage to produce cool and warm air. This means that consumers will use less gas and electricity with heat pumps compared to other systems, as well as less money. This will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, taking the pressure off both the planet and your budget.
Moving to a heat pump means you can avoid the volatile prices associated with gas. If you are using Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) or electric heating, you could see a reduction to your energy bill if you move to a heat pump.
Electric Heat pumps are significantly more efficient than traditional boilers and use cleaner electricity, so will reduce your home’s carbon footprint. A heat pump takes heat at a low temperature from the air or ground, increases that heat to a higher temperature and transfers it into your home to provide heating and hot water.
To be eligible for the Solar Homes Program, you must be the owner-occupier of a property valued at under $3 million, with a combined household taxable income below $210,000 per year. The property address should not have received a rebate under this program before, and the heat pump water heater to be replaced must be at least three years old from the date of purchase.

Very Happy with my battery installation, great value and quick installation timePosted on Daniel HIGGINSTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I couldn’t be happier with the service from Invincible Energy. From start to finish they have been accessible & good to deal with. Special shoutout to Shelley who was always incredibly helpful and advocated for me at every turn & Ahmed the gun installer who could not have been more lovely and committed, working until darkness each day to get things completed promptly. The batteries and inverters look terrific and Invincible made payments very easy for me. Really happy with how it all turned out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Posted on Peter HolmesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were very pleased with the service. DO NOT BOTHER W THESE GUYS! Sales man at the start was actually excellent. The issue was when the invoices come through they weren’t in the correct name. When it was installed, it was a very rough job. The batteries were not installed where we were told they would be installed therefore our two car garage quickly became A1 car garage. There was absolutely no communication in regards to all they were was pay pay pay and we said we’d pay when we’re able to inspect it or able to speak to the inspector because we noticed that there was issues with it along with the issues of insulation in the wrong places for solar panels and the batteries. They were very pushy and trying to get paid but when we spoke to the installer they hadn’t approved the work. It is nearly 6 months since we engaged with him. Initially they were amazing but now the follow-up everything just so not worth your time and effort they may come in at the cheapest they may promise the world but they do not Fulfil what they promise. Our system has been installed 2.5m ago and still not commissioned as the inspector will not sign the dodger job off.Posted on Jane TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The installers were really good at explaining the process. I was a bit disappointed with the salesman as he didn't explain about the blackout protection. But I spoke to a lovely man who arranged it for me.Posted on darren ackersTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Shelley has been very helpfulPosted on Bradford YellandTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. DO NOT USE INVINCIBLE ENERGY. Invincible Energy responded quickly to our enquiries through a government site. The installation of our panels happened quickly and Invincible looked after access to the grants. Part of the deal that convinced us to engage Invincible was their promise to look after getting a grant for the Battery and then install it 3 months after the panel installation. After 4 months of no contact I called the salesman from Invincible but got no answer. I tried calling and sending messages for 3 weeks, also using the hotline, but could not get a response. I decided to use my wife's mobile and got through first time. They promised to be more responsive but then again would not answer my calls. Additionally, the financial information Invincible provided was misleading resulting in the total cost being higher than the salesman quoted due to a number of hidden factors including fees associated with the zero interest loan. Additionally, in the initial discussion about the battery, Invincible Energy quoted $15K for a 20KW battery and promised a $12K grant, leaving only $3K to pay ourselves. It turns out that the maximum grant available for a 20KW battery is less than $7K as it is calculated per KW. So I have assumed that the reason Invincible Energy would not engage with me after the initial engagement was that they over-promised to get my business and then did not want to be in the position of having to honour it. I also assume that they were only ever interested in making money on the initial panel installation from the start but used the battery promise as a lure. We gave multiple people in Invincible Energy many opportunities to show us they were genuine, but they failed every time. We decided to change supplier and used Advantage Solar for the battery. They have been excellent in all respects. My advice is DO NOT USE INVINCIBLE ENERGY FOR YOUR SOLAR OR BATTERY INSTALLATIONS.Posted on BrettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Be very careful they fitted my solar panels on the wrong roof then when I got them to fit them on the right roof they left holes drilled right through my house roof I could see daylight then they done a dodgy with the paperwork and I never received any of the rebates from the government then I found out they are black banned from the government and once the panels were up none of them will answer their phone and it's been over 12 months and I haven't received not one cent for any feed back into the feed because they still haven't configured solar to my meter so I have missed hundreds maybe thousands of dollars I could keep going on but you be aware very aware do lots of research before you sign any paperwork
